| General Shipping Policy
The Scent Works offers a variety of shipping options for our customers' convenience and reduced costs. This Shipping Policy delineates the parameters within which we operate and provides requisite guidance to our customers.
Shipping Options
For your convenience, we have contracted with select carriers for transporting goods to your door, and we offer a variety of Shipping Options to worldwide destinations. Your choice of Shipping Options is made available to you in the website shopping cart and during Checkout on the "Shipping" page (see below).

Delivery Time
The elapsed time between placing your order and receiving it depends on several factors including when it was placed; when we processed it; the time for picking, packing and shipping; carrier transit time; and, security issues.
The following charts provide a handy guide to determine total delivery time for your order. Simply look-up (i) Ship Method, (ii) when you placed your order, (iii) destination, and add the "Days Elapsed" from Tables I and IIa or IIb , as applicable (also, see "Expedited Order Processing").
Please note: these Tables are provided strictly as a guide and should not be construed as any sort of guarantee of delivery time.

Zone Map
In addition to faster transit carrier services, The Scent Works also offers the Warp Speed Handling Service, our in-house expedited order handling service. For a nominal service fee, we'll speed your order through our warehouse processing the same day! Click the link for details on how to order.
On occasion we will require Signature Service on a shipment. This security procedure is entirely within the control of, and at the sole discretion of, our Traffic Dept. They implement this option, based on certain selection criteria, for the benefit and protection of our customers and the Company. We provide this service at no additional cost.
Options for receiving a Signature-Service-Required package include:
- redirecting delivery to an alternate address (additional charges will apply; common carrier shipments only);
- authorize carrier to leave package with a local neighbor (signature is still required; no additional charges apply; common carrier shipments only);
- pickup at carrier's local depot or post office, as applicable.

Delays
If your order is delayed for reasons other than those shown on the website, and we are not able to ship your order within ten (10) days, we will contact you and give you the option to cancel the order.
Shipping Destinations
The Scent Works ships to over 75 countries and territories on 6 continents.
Holiday Orders
Our busiest time is about 6 to 10 weeks before each major holiday. That's when everyone is manufacturing their respective end-products to be sold during the holiday. So, when we refer herein to "holidays" or the "holiday period," we're actually referring to this prelude period.
Every effort will be made to get your holiday order delivered timely but we cannot guarantee delivery except to the carrier. To ensure your delivery for most items during holiday periods, please place your orders in a timely fashion but expect some delays due to order volume.
Shipping & Handling Charges ("S&H")
S&H charges are tabulated automatically at Checkout for an entire order at one time based on each item's actual weight, shipping method and destination. Because the calculation method cannot take into account important aspects, including multiple box shipments, oversized or volumetrically weighted boxes (see "Dimensional Weight"), certain surcharges, and other items, the S&H charges shown at Checkout can only be an estimate (though usually accurate). Thus, your actual shipping costs may vary from those shown.
Also, in some cases it is not possible to accurately confirm S&H charges before packing and/or shipping as there may also be costs incurred after shipment for address corrections or other incorrect/invalid information provided by the customer; redirected deliveries; and the like.The customer is responsible for all freight-related costs and we reserve the right to charge the customer all such S&H charges. Notwithstanding, we will endeavor to contact you and obtain prior approval for any S&H charges which are greater than twenty-five percent (25%) more than shown in our shopping cart.
Additional charges also apply on orders with 2 or more shipping addresses, or with multiple partial shipments, but will NOT be shown during Checkout. Please contact Customer Service for details.
Heavy or Oversized Items
Some heavy or oversized items, which may be identified as such on their item description pages, have special S&H costs. Our shopping cart is not currently set up to calculate S&H charges for oversized or multi-box shipments. Contact Customer Service for details.
Please note: Oversize items cannot be shipped to Alaska or Hawaii.
Shipping of Regulated or Hazardous Materials
We're sorry, but items containing regulated or hazardous materials cannot be shipped by air. These items are identified on their item description page as “RESTRICTED” or otherwise containing regulated or hazardous materials.
Most of our packages are delivered by a combination of air and ground transport. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and International Air Transport Association (IATA) restrict the air shipment of certain items that could potentially impair safe flight. We are committed to getting your order to you as quickly as possible, but we also must to do it in compliance with all government rules and regulations. Accordingly, we cannot ship by air some orders that contain FAA- or IATA-restricted products.
Restricted items typically fall into one of two categories:
- Aerosol products in pressurized spray cans, such as hairspray and shaving cream. Currently, The Scent Works does not carry any aerosol-based products.
- Products that contain flammable, volatile or corrosive chemicals, such as certain essential oils and fragrance oils.
Shipping Confirmation
Upon shipping your order, we will send you an email with delivery tracking information including a link by which you can track your order through our carrier's web site.
Tracking your Orders
Most orders can be tracked via our carriers' web sites. Upon placing your order you will receive an order confirmation with an order number (see "Order Confirmations"). Contact Customer Service at your convenience to check the status of your order.
