Lemon Verbena

Lemon Verbena is an herb that originated in South America. Delicate and feathery in shape, it has long, pointed leaves and is characterized by a fragrant, perfumed lemon scent. It was brought to Europe in the 17th century and has been popular in France, for many years, as a perfume and soap scent. Essential oil is extracted by steam distillation and is used as an antispasmodic, sedative, for stomach ills and to lower fevers. The herb is delightful in teas, for desserts, salads and jams.

Very true to the sunny essence of the plant, this fragrance oil is a natural for soaps. It has a fresh herbal base with touches of sweet honey tempering a tangy, lemon heart.
