Green Tea Leaf Powder*

While the origins of tea may be traced back to over 4,000 years ago in China, Green Tea first appeared in 2nd century China when sun-dried green leaves were chopped and boiled as a drink.

Green Tea leaf is rich in polyphenols, a potent anti-oxidant scavenger of free radicals. Including properties that help rejuvenate the skin, prevent damage from sun exposure, and promote elasticity through collagenase inhibition and anti-inflammatory activity, Green Tea may also protect the heart by relaxing blood vessels, inhibiting blood clots, and helping to improve blood-cholesterol levels. Known to reduce glutathione peroxidase and catalase, which are cancer-causing agents, studies have suggested a possible link between the consumption of fresh-brewed green tea and reduced risk of various cancers, including those of the stomach, colon, skin, and breast. It also contains fluoride and phytoestrogens, which may increase bone density and guard against osteoporosis.

Green Tea Leaf Powder is convenient and natural, often used in soap-making as a colorant. Use it in CP, HP or M&P soaps. It is also used in bath teas, body wraps, and deodorants, and it's skin-soothing properties help diminish irritation associated with AHA and BHA products in facial preparations.
