Fata Morgana™
Named for the shapeshifter, Morgan Le Fay, who was the faerie half-sister of King Arthur, Fata Morgana is a mirage, or an optical illusion. The phenomenon results from a temperature inversion, and distant objects may shimmer or look like castles, or cooler air on the ground may make an upside down reflection.
Usually seen in morning's first light when the previous days heat has dissipated, and cold air hovers at ground level, Fata Morgana was first described in English at the Strait of Messina between Calabria and Siciliy in 1818.
Borne of the intense heat of the sun and the mystery of the cold moon, our Fata Morgana™ has all the allure of a mystical spell. The fragrance oil draws influences from the Maya to the Mediterranean. Firmly grounded with Moroccan Thyine Wood, Mysore Sandalwood, Egyptian Musk and Exotic Spices, our “shapeshifter” has a heart of Red Marrakech Amber, Red Tea, Turkish Red Rose, topped with lilting Valencia Orange, Sicillian Femminnello Lemon and sweet Lattarula fig, Mexican Torch Flower and French Mimosa.
This is a gorgeous, unique and complex fragrance with an intense sensuality and the warmth of the Mediterranean. The floral and fruity nuances add brightness to the dry and woodsy basenotes. Outstanding!
And it's phthalate-free, too!
