Coven™
[compare to Coty® Covet® Sarah Jessica Parker-brand]
After the success of her signature fragrance, Lovely, Sarah Jessica Parker worked for over two years to develop and release her newest scent, Covet®. Other celebrities have been cranking out multiple fragrances during that time, but she had carefully chosen the notes for this riskier scent. She wanted it to be "genderless," and although it is unmistakably feminine, it's fresher and woodier notes do introduce a more masculine edge.
Coven™, our interpretation of SJP's Covet®, is, like the perfume it renders, quite a bit earthier than the gentle floral Lovely. Opening with citrusy lemon and herbal lavender, it follows with a subtle, romantic chocolatey aroma and a burst of floral bouquet, which quickly dissolve into musky woods and amber. It is earthy but the herbal and floral elements persist and provide a lift to the composition.
Notes include Soft Wet Greens, Rose Geranium, Sicillian Lemon, Lavender, Dark Chocolate, Honeysuckle, Magnolia, Muguet, Musk, Vetiver, Bois de Cashmere, Teakwood and Amber.
As a cp soap fragrance, we stop short of recommending it. It soaps fairly easily with temperatures kept low to accommodate the floral. And discoloration is minor; a light ivory. However, we found that the scent faded in cp after about 6-9 months. We tested it at 0.7 Oz./Lb. usage rate and found it strong on pour and cure, but it just didn't last as long as we would have hoped in cp. Nonetheless, we still think it's a terrific fragrance and are proud to be able to offer it.
