Concord Grape
Delicious and sweet, the Concord is a Queen among grapes. The skin is easily separated from the grape, and the rich, heady perfume flavors the juice with the characteristic scent everyone associates with Grapes...Jelly, candy and soda are all made using the Concord flavoring.
A fairly new cultivar, the Concord grape was developed in 1849 by Ephraim Wales Bull in Concord, Massachusetts. Bull planted seeds from wild Vitis labrusca and evaluated over 20,000 seedlings before finding what he considered the perfect grape. The original vine still grows at his former home.
